Donald Trump and the US Constitution
Donald Trump is the most unethical, dishonest and corrupt president that the United States has ever had. However, he is only the embodiment and the interface for the organizations and people who are actually pulling the levers of the machine that is designed to turn the United States from a democracy into an oligarchy - a fascist state run by and for the obscenely rich.
Trump must go.
Then his enablers and handlers must go.
The basis for the case for Trump’s impeachment is below. For a more detailed and excellent description, please go to The Case for Impeachment. Trump and his cronies are responsible for:
1. Illegally kidnapping, detaining, and removing U.S. residents
2. Illegally and unconstitutional removing U.S. residents, migrants, and asylum-seekers to foreign prisons
3. Unlawfully and unconstitutionally attempting to deport immigrants for peacefully protesting
4. Unconstitutionally usurping Congress’s powers
5. Defying court orders and unconstitutionally usurping judicial authority
6. Abusing his power to seek retribution against perceived adversaries
7. Co-opting and Dismantling Independent Government Oversight
8. Unlawfully imposing tariffs
9. Receiving foreign and domestic emoluments
10. Unconstitutionally usurping local and state authority
11. Abusing the emergency power
12. Abusing the pardon power
13. Corruptly dismissing criminal charges against Eric Adams
14. Depriving citizens of their birthright citizenship
15. Blocking efforts to secure U.S. elections
16. Planning the forced removal of Palestinians from Gaza
17. Engaging in unlawful, corrupt practices during the 2024 presidential campaign
One of the strongest indicators that Trump is unfit for the presidency is his lack of commitment to the US Constitution. He has violated his oath to the US Constitution in several ways as indicated above, but below is a little more detail.
From: https://www.ibanet.org/Trumps-assault-on-the-First-Amendment
“The Trump administration has executed a wide-ranging crackdown on freedom of speech by targeting student protestors, lawyers and the press.”
“In the short time that US president Donald Trump has held power, his administration has weaponised the federal government to suppress speech and punish his adversaries. In what many experts have challenged as a violation of First Amendment rights, a cornerstone of US democracy, President Trump has threatened protestors, banned news outlets from covering White House events and used executive orders to sanction law firms who he believes attacked him unfairly in the past.”
“In addition to the crackdown on international students the White House has threatened to withdraw millions of dollars in federal funding from at least 60 universities unless they agree to a set of demands to address alleged failures to comply with federal civil rights laws related to antisemitism and drop diversity, equity and inclusion policies…”

Article 1, Section 9
“The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”
and
Article 1, Section 9
“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
Violations
Qatar Boeing 747 Gift
The most recent example of his violation of the emoluments clause is his acceptance, under the guise of replacing Air Force One, with a Boeing 747 from Qatar:
“The Boeing 747 plane — which industry groups say could be worth around $400 million — would be one of the biggest foreign gifts ever received by the U.S. government. That's controversial because the Constitution's Foreign Emoluments Clause forbids public office holders from accepting a present ‘of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.’
Trump said Monday that the plane isn't a gift to him, but to the Department of Defense. He added that it will be decommissioned after his term for his presidential library, and that he will not use it after leaving office.
Richard Briffault, a Columbia Law School professor who specializes in government ethics, says that distinction doesn't matter: If the plane goes to Trump's presidential library after he leaves office, ‘then it's not really a gift to the United States at all.’"

Memecoin
“Days before the start of his second term, President Trump launched the $TRUMP memecoin. Its price quickly peaked at $75, before crashing and causing $2 billion in investor losses. In April, President Trump announced plans to invite $TRUMP’s top 220 investors to a private dinner, resulting in a 60% surge in price as investors rushed to accumulate enough value to qualify for a seat at the dinner.
The Trump family and its partners have earned more than $320 million in trading fees since $TRUMP was launched in January, including at least $1.35 million following the dinner announcement. Multiple investors have explicitly stated that they hoped to purchase influence with the president.
In addition, a Bloomberg investigation found that the majority of the top 25 memecoin holders are likely foreign nationals. The top spot is held by Justin Sun, a Chinese crypto entrepreneur who faced an SEC lawsuit alleging fraudulent market manipulation on his blockchain platform. The Trump Administration notably paused the legal action after Sun invested $30 million in one of President Trump’s other cryptocurrency ventures, the World Liberty Project.

Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.
ICE and their associated agencies are arresting and detaining thousands of people from the street, churches, schools and city halls without identifying themselves or presenting warrants, and then denying them any form of due process. Many have been disappeared, transported to foreign detention centers (CECOT in El Salvador, for example) with no chance to contact family or legal representation or are detained in inhumane centers in the United States run by the for-profit corporation GEO (Locations).

Besides actually violating the constitution, Trump has been consistent in his comments about his lack of dedication to this basic tenet of American law. He has called for the suspension or termination of parts of the constitution:
Trump's Dedication to the Constitution - Willingness to Adhere to his Oath - Fitness for Office

Trump Calls For Suspension of Constitution
Trump Calls to Terminate Part of Constitution
Most recently, he stated on Meet the Press, that he doesn’t know if he has to abide by the constitution, or even what the constitution says, among other things! It is well worth watching the entire episode:
Meet the Press, May 4, 2025
There are so many reasons to recognize that Trump is unfit to be President of the United States. But if we can briefly ignore his first administration, just the things that he has done and said in these first months are enough to disqualify him.
I don’t understand why people believe in Trump. His arguments are nonsensical and hollow. He hawks his made-in-China products to his MAGA base while preaching that we need to bring manufacturing back to the US, imposing tariffs on everything from food to cars, driving up the price for everyone here. He blatantly and maliciously disregards the rights of the Americans and all others in this country. He is avariciously enriching himself and his family, knowing full well that we the people will suffer the consequences for years to come.
How. Can. This. Be? How can this man be left in office? How can Republicans look to him for leadership? If Republicans really have a political philosophy, it is not embodied in this unintelligent, dementia-ridden, self-absorbed fake. It would or should be easy for real Republican Americans and their politicians to dethrone him. Instead they fear those wielding the real power for which 47 is just the interface. Who has the real power and control over mentally challenged degenerate and his cabinet? Peter Thiel, Alex Karp and his Palantir cohorts, Russel Vought, Musk...? There are definitely links between Project 2025 and Palantir, now with insiders and puppets within the Trump regime.
Trump rambles when he gives speeches, talking about trophy wives when addressing the 2025 graduates of West Point and repeatedly compares himself to Al Capone, seemingly proud that he himself has more convictions than the gangster, who was convicted, by the way, of tax evasion.

Is this normal?

And as a reminder, Trump didn’t come into his second term with a clean slate
